“The first resurrection,” centered on Revelation 20:4–6, carries the meaning that those who, about 2,000 years ago, suffered for the testimony of Jesus and the word of God and acted according to Scripture come to life in the spiritual world and become priests of God and of Christ.
Those who participate in the first resurrection correspond to people such as the disciples who left everything behind and followed Jesus, and Paul, who regarded the mission of bearing witness to the gospel as more important than his own life even amid bonds and tribulation. They are understood as those who bear witness to the word of God and rebuild the places that have fallen.
However, there have been those who have misused this biblical meaning to justify their own power and deeds, and this can also be understood as a result of the hypocritical scribes and Pharisees obscuring the true structure of the word and misleading the whole world into following a false path.
